A Lily-Inspired First Birthday
What a whirl-wind of a year it has been! I can't believe my sweet Lily Ann turned a year old today. She's already experienced three of Mama and Daddy's flips/house renovations, a trip to the Bahamas, and about twenty-five trips to Mississippi in her short first year of life (I may be exaggerating, but it sure was a lot).
Her little personality is already shining through - Lily is stubborn, yet sweet as sugar. She loves to wave at every person she meets, she adores her daddy and sister, and she's a true mama's girl.
For her birthday party, I wanted to do a Lily-inspired theme, true to her name. The cake was decorated in pretty water lilies, and I used stargazer lilies in my flower arrangements. Her party colors were soft pinks and blue-greens just like a floating water lily, and I used touches of gold to add a little glamour.
We started the day off with blueberry pancakes, followed by a trip to the Children's Museum with Nana and Granddaddy and lunch at Johnny Rocket's. After naps at home, it was time for the party! The birthday girl changed into her sweet little ribbon tu-tu, shoes, and headband that her sister wore on her first birthday. The rosette smash cake wasn't quite the smash hit that her mama had hoped for, but nonetheless, it was fun!
It was a small little gathering of just family, but we sure enjoyed celebrating our sweet little girl. Lily Ann, Mama loves you so much, and I can't wait to see what God has in store for your life. - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not into your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
